Maria D�Ambrosio Tesmer, 67, of Jacksonville, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Warner Center.

A native of Taranto, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Francesco and Carmela D�Ambrosio. She met and married her husband of 42 years, John G. Tesmer, while they were both in the U. S. Army and stationed in Germany.

After serving in the U. S. Army, she became a full time wife and mother extraordinaire. She, John , Johnny, Michael, and Jackie, made their home in many locations because of John�s duty stations.

Living in such places as Chicago, IL; Augusta, GA; Dallas, TX; Richland, WA; and Valrico, FL Maria was a friend to many and never met a stranger. She was an exceptional cook and seamstress and for John, she was the �Wind Beneath His Wings�. A beautiful lady, she will always be remembered for her love of family, her love of travel, and her adventurous spirit.

She leaves behind her husband, John G. Tesmer, sons, John Tesmer, Jr. of Valrico, FL; Michael Tesmer of Orlando, FL; a daughter, Jackie Tesmer of Seattle, WA; two sisters, Anna D�Ambrosio of Taranto, Italy and Rita Fanella of San Francisco, CA; a brother, Vito D�Ambrosio of Los Angeles, CA and three grandchildren, Anna, Johnny, and Amelia Tesmer.

Funeral services for Mrs. Tesmer will be held Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard with Pastor Jim Tippins officiating.

Interment, with military honors, will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL , Monday, November 20, 2017 at 1:00 PM.
