Marie Rand Galphin

Mrs. Marie Rand Galphin, 89, of Fernandina Beach passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Baptist Medical Center Nassau.
Born April 21, 1929 in Chicago, Mrs. Galphin was a daughter of the late Alexis and Alice Rand de Tarnowsky.
She moved to Fernandina Beach 8 years ago from Felton, CA.
Mrs. Galphin was a bookkeeper for much of her adult life but in later years worked as a private duty nursing assistant. She also volunteered at Baptist Medical Center, Nassau.
She was a active parishioner at St. Michael�s Catholic Church. There she was able to use her love and creative talent for sewing and crafts to work with several sewing groups. She was also able to use her Spanish language skills to assist at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Mission in Yulee in their Spanish mission outreach and Spanish language Mass.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Larry Galphin.
Mrs. Galphin leaves behind her brother, George de Tarnowsky and his wife, Jean of Fernandina Beach; a sister, Alexandra Bearthe Ingraham of Irvine, CA; a step brother, Peter de Tarnowsky of Niles, IL and five nieces, Kelly, Holly, Lynne, Nicole and Michelle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael�s Catholic Church at 11:00 AM , Friday, March 22, 2019 with Fr. Jose Kallukalam as Celebrant.
She will be laid to rest in Bosque Bello Cemetery.
