Marion Zingle

2022-10-07

Marion Zingle, 79, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away Friday, October 7th at her home in Fernandina Beach, FL.

Born on May 7th, 1943, to the late Peter and Marion (O’Neill) DeStefano, she grew up in the Kensington section of Philadelphia and attended John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School in Center City. Over the years, she worked in the office at St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls, in Social Justice outreach at Old St. Joseph’s church, and in the medical office at Pediatric Dental Associates of Northeast Philadelphia, while raising her children. It was while working at St. Hubert that she met her beloved husband of 44 years, Robert Zingle. Together, they shared a love of traveling, dining in restaurants, attending theatre, and seeing local musicians in concert, which they continued to do after they retired to Florida in 2015.

Marion enjoyed volunteering and meeting friends through social groups. She became active in Women of Nassau, Democrats of Nassau County, and a local book club upon arriving in Florida. She loved cooking, reading and could often be found listening to Frank Sinatra music.

Marion leaves behind her husband, Robert; sister, Judith Rodney and brother-in-law, Dr. Joel Rodney and their son, Jonathan; son, Timothy Anderson; daughter-in-law, Lisa Anderson and their children, Emily and Eric; daughter, Laura Zingle; son-in-law, Brian Donald, and their children, Liam and Zoe.

There are no services planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a local live arts organization of your choice in Marion’s name.
