Marjorie Jane Austen

Marjorie Jane Austen, 86, of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away on Saturday August 26th at Community Hospice, Warner Center in Fernandina Beach, FL.

Born on August 10th, 1937 in Moline, IL to the late Harry F. Ward and Muriel Mae Moorehouse. She grew up in Moline, IL before meeting her husband Webster S. Skelton Jr. Marjorie later moved to Florida where she resided for her remaining years.

Marjorie worked for the Jacksonville Sherriff Office as a clerk for twenty years before her retirement.
Marjorie had quite a witty sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with many friends throughout the years. She was accomplished with her hobbies creating Macramé and enjoyed reading and cooking. Her children describe her as a loving mother who always encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Webster S Skelton Jr, her son, James Marolf and sister, Prudence Virtuoso .

She leaves behind her children, Webster S. (Natalie) Skelton III of Fernandina Beach, FL and Kimberly (Timothy) Fowler of Gray, GA. She was also a wonderful grandmother to Sariah Skelton of Fernandina Beach, FL; Alexia (Brantley) Jones of Macclenny, FL; Heather Collins of Nicholson, GA; Annabelle Fowler (Kyung Min) of Philadelphia, PA; Chloe Fowler of Gray, GA, and Mary Fowler of Macon, GA. As well as 4 great grandchildren, Nathan, Avery, Gracelynn, and Charlotte.

Funeral services will be at 4pm on Thursday August 31st at Oxley Heard Funeral Home in Fernandina Beach. 1305 Atlantic Avenue Fernandina Beach, FL 32034

The family will receive friends from 3pm until the hour of service at Oxley Heard Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the Community Hospice Warner Center staff for their amazing care they provided for Marjorie.
