Mark Perdue

Mark LeRoy Perdue, age 61 of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away peacefully on Monday September 5, 2016.
Mark was born in Franklin, KY; he was the son and youngest child of Oscar and Frances Deweese Perdue. He grew up in Franklin where he loved life on the farm. He attended Franklin-Simpson High School where he played the cornet as a member of the Wildcat Marching Band. After graduating in 1973, he attended Western Kentucky University before joining the U.S. Army in 1975 where he served honorably for twenty years, including deployment during Operation Desert Storm. After his retirement in 1995, he and his family moved to Dallas, GA, where he earned his college degree from DeVry University while working with The Atlanta Committee of Olympic Games for the 1996 Olympics, and then moved on to a few other jobs in the IT industry before starting his own computer repair company.
Mark, sometimes called �Frank� by his army buddies, was a loving father, who enjoyed spending time with his three children and volunteering with the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his father Oscar Perdue and leaves behind his daughter, Shannon Marsh, and her husband Peter, of Fernandina Beach, his two sons, Christopher and Matthew Perdue, of Dallas, GA, granddaughter Amelia Rose, his mother, Frances Perdue of Franklin, KY, his sister and best friend Charlotte Farmer and her husband Ronnie of Paducah, KY, their two sons, Drew and Ross Farmer and their families of Huntsville, AL, several cousins, aunts, and uncles.
His family will receive friends on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 5:00 � 7:00 pm at Oxley Heard.
Memorial services to celebrate his life will be held at a later date in Dallas, GA.
