Bob, I was so sad to hear about Marsha. I finally remember all the times and talks we had together. She was a funny and intelligent lady not to mention beautiful. She will be so missed, but I know she’s on the rainbow bridge with patches.

Marsha North-Riley, 85, passed away on June 16, 2026.
Born and raised in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Marsha was the daughter of the late Marvin “Buck” and Charlotte Carter. She graduated from James Monroe High School.
Marsha had a diverse professional career. She worked as a civilian for the US Army at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and later served as an aide to Prince William County Supervisor Maureen Caddigan. She also worked as a real estate agent, both in Virginia and later in Fernandina Beach, Florida, where she lived in her recent years.
She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Riley; her daughter, Lori Beatty; her step-daughter, Teresa Howard; her grandchildren, Christina Beatty (and partner Andrew Moline) and Jeffrey Beatty (and wife Candace); her great-grandchildren, Teagan and Owen Beatty; and her siblings, Michael Carter and Sherry Carter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Steven Carter; and her step-son, Ricky Riley.
At Marsha's request, no funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to your local animal shelter.
