How well I remember her when Sister and I played at the house on Chipandie. She was a teenager with blonde hair and her name was Starr! It was like magic. Peace be with all of you Buchanans.

Martha Starr Buchanan
2026-02-01
Martha Starr Buchanan, 67, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026.
Born on March 6, 1958, Starr spent most of her life in Augusta, Georgia, while cherishing many summers—and her final years—in Fernandina Beach, Florida. She had a deep love for animals, especially horses, and was known for her warm nature and sense of humor. Strong and stubborn in the best ways, Starr remained wholly herself to the very end, even through her battle with dementia. She never hesitated to say “I love you” to those closest to her and lived with an adventurous spirit, a love of rock ’n’ roll, and a heart full of feeling.
She will be laid to rest later this month at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia next to her beloved son, parents, and sister. She will be missed dearly by her friends and family and remembered for the love she gave so freely. “I have loved you with an everlasting love.” Jeremiah 31:3
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Starr's honor be made to Community Hospice of Fernandina Beach, Jane & Bill Warner Center for Caring https://thefoundationcares.org/give/
