Condolences:

Kim Bell-Tuck

Always the nicest lady! Her cookies were the best even back when Jeffrey and I were in grade school. She brought cookies for our class often. My warmest condolences to the family.

Melisa McRannolds

My grandmothers cookies were certainly the best. I will always remember taking home freezer bags full of cookies every time I saw her. She will be missed by many!

Loved Mary McRannolds. She was my granddaughters Sunday School at Bible Baptist Church in Fernandina. We loved her cookies and peanut brittle. She had a great laugh and since of humor. We will miss her. Although we haven’t seen her in a while. She was in our thoughts

Mary A. McRannolds

2022-04-17

Mary McRannolds, 84 of Jacksonville FL, passed away on April 17, 2022, at Shand’s Hospital.
Mary was born and grew up in Cheboygan, MI, where she eventually met and married Joseph McRannolds. They moved to Kalkaska, MI where Mary was a stay-at-home mom, raising her four sons. When the boys were in their teens, Mary went to work at Kalkaska Hospital, eventually becoming the Hospital Dietician.

When Mary’s husband passed away in May of 1989 she decided to move to Lake Butler, FL to be closer to children and grandchildren. She worked as the dietician for Lake Butler Hospital until she retired. Shortly thereafter moving with her son to Fernandina Beach and then Jacksonville.

Mary was always very involved in her son's lives. From going to all their sporting events to being a Den Mother for their scout troop. She continued this with her grandchildren, never missing the chance to go to band concerts, ball games, birthday parties and every other family get together, where she loved challenging the grandkids to a game of Chinese checkers, Scrabble, or some other board game.

Mary was also a devout Christian and dedicated to her church family, from Calvary Baptist in Kalkaska, MI, Faith Baptist in Lake Butler, FL, and Bible Baptist in Fernandina Beach, FL, she loved helping wherever needed, in the kitchen, nursery or doing church clean up, she was always willing to help. But she especially loved her Sunday School class and those little kids loved her too.

Mary was well known for her baking skills, and this was a favorite hobby of hers that she perfected over the years. Her homemade cookies, pies, cakes, and sticky buns could not be matched. She always had cookies baked and frozen so that when anyone came by, she could give them of bag of cookies. Her chocolate chip cookies were so good that her church in Fernandina decided to start a cookie ministry. Thousands of her cookies were baked and given out all over Fernandina and Yulee. Mary shared her skills with her grandchildren, teaching them to bake chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies, that they would then take to school and share with their friends. She was so proud of them.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph McRannolds of Kalkaska MI, son, John McRannolds of Traverse City, MI, grandson, Jeremy McRannolds of Lake Butler, FL and granddaughter, Rachel (McRannolds) Weisenborn of Fernandina Beach, FL.
