Mary Ann Matison (nee`Cook), 78, of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She leaves behind many accomplishments including being an exemplary elementary school teacher; being a professional genealogist; being a professional gardener; being an amateur artist plus many other accomplishments. Her proudest accomplishment was raising her three sons who are very successful in their lives. Her sons are Michael (Lisa) Matison, a Texas attorney, with grandchildren, Brady, Abigail and Chloe; Joseph (Kerry), a Captain in the U. S. Navy, with grandchild, James and Matthew (Andrea) Matison who is an engineer with Sikorsky in Connecticut.

She also leaves behind her loving husband of 52 years, James Matison and a brother, Mike Cook of Hillman, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stewart and Marie Reichle Cook and her siblings, Donald Cook and Thelma Jean Relter.

A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 2:00 PM at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fernandina Beach. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint, MI at a later date.

Rather than flowers her family asks that donations be made, in her memory, to Holy Family School in Grand Blanc, MI, 215 Orchard St, Grand Blanc, MI 48439.
