Mary J. Braddock

Mary Carolyn James Braddock, age 90 of Fernandina Beach, Florida passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.
She was born in Grand Crossing, Jacksonville to Elmer Ellsworth James and Mattie Carol Causey.

She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School.

Mary and Tom moved to Fernandina Beach in 1971, where they built an enduring community of friends through the First Baptist Church Fernandina and through her work in accounting with several real estate companies.

Mary and Tom lived a blessed life devoted to each other, their family, church, her Bethany Faith Sunday School Class, her flower gardens, and being home together.

Mary was preceded in death by her only son, Larry W. Keen and sister, Rachel James (Schaffner).

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Thomas H. Braddock Jr.; daughter, Deborah Keen Fixel (Arthur); daughter in-law, Loretta Keen; sisters, Eleanor Vees and Laura Edna McNallay (Larry); brother, Elmer James (Barbara); grandchildren, James Bryan Keen (Sarah), Mary Catherine Fixel (Bradley), Hannah Fixel (Benjamin); great-grand daughter, Anne Averette Keen, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at First Baptist Church, 1600 S. 8th Street, Fernandina Beach, Florida 32034.
Her family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the hour of service at the church.
She will be laid to rest in Dyal Cemetery, Live Oak Baptist Church near Callahan, Florida.

Pallbearers will be: Steve Simmons, Bernard Head, Douglas Webb, Brad Huntley, James Bryan Keen, William Braddock, Craig Richardson and Lee Rowe.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Mallory Smith, Thomas Rowe, Jimmy Parker, James Huntley, Dr. Henry Rodeffer, William Bryan and Christopher Head.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Duval County 4-H Foundation, 1010 N. McDuff Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida, 32254 or the First Baptist Church Building Fund 1600 S. 8th Street, Fernandina Beach, 32034.
