Mrs. Mary Jaunell Eunice (Nana), 90, of Fernandina Beach passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022, at the Warner Center for Caring.
Born on November 28, 1931 in Echols County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Ruby Petty Chauncey.
On August 18, 1951, she married the love of her life, William George Eunice and they had two daughters together, Brenda Gail and Janet Faye.
After moving to Fernandina Beach in 1959, she was a dedicated homemaker until 1967 when she began her career with the Nassau County School District, retiring from the food service department after 24 years.
She was a loving mother, devoted wife, and Nana to all. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, traveling, and most especially, spending time with her family. She was a woman of God and a role model for all who knew her.
She is predeceased by her husband George, her daughter Brenda, her brothers Ralph and Buddy Chauncey, and sisters Mamie Lee, Francis Day, and Bobby Sue Chute.
She leaves behind her daughter, Janet (Jamie) Deonas; her granddaughter, Shannon Taylor; grandson, Brandon Conn; great-grandson, Brayden Taylor; her brothers, Quincey (Carolyn) Chauncey and John (Julia) Chauncey; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, August 18th 2022 from 9:00 am-10:00 am in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors. The funeral services will begin at 10:00 am.
Mary will be laid to rest beside her husband and daughter in the Bosque Bello Cemetery.
