I met Matt in the Retreat golf league and we immediately had a connection. I had built some golf greens at my home and Matt couldn't wait to see how these had turned out. From then on until the time he moved South, he was my mentor and guru on all things golf green. A good buddy and a kind heart. Thank you, Matt for your knowledge and gift of friendship.Rock on my friend.

Matt, as Jacks brother became our son-law-by marriage. We loved him dearly. He had a heart of Gold, and always a smile on his face. He will be missed by our whole family.
I had the pleasure of meeting, and working for Matt while he was the superintendent at Foxfire. He made coming to work enjoyable. We built a friendship over the years, and always went out of his way to check in to see how my family, and myself were doing. Was stunned to hear the news of his passing. My condolences to his family, and friends. We lost a good one.
Known Matt since I was taller than him. One moment with him was like a lifetime and he never missed a beat. He was our little brother and part of the family. Feeling for the Cones and Nivers and all his friends who lost a great soul.
