I met Matt when he started working at Glen Kernan. We connected right away. We shared many beers, football watching and joking around. We had somethings in common right off the bat, due to my dad being raised in upstate NY. Matt, thank you for all the good times, laughs and talks. You will be missed friend, Rest In Peace. To his family, my prayers are with you at this time of loss.

I am so sad to hear of Matt’s passing. We shared many a beverage at Lake Effect and Ironwood. One of the best drivers of the golf ball ever. Great guy, loads of fun, and gone way to soon. Rest In Peace my friend. All the best to Matt’s friends and relatives.

I met Matt in the Retreat golf league and we immediately had a connection. I had built some golf greens at my home and Matt couldn't wait to see how these had turned out. From then on until the time he moved South, he was my mentor and guru on all things golf green. A good buddy and a kind heart. I met Matt when he began bowling at the BVille Sports Bowl. He was such an amazing person to be around and talk to. Always quick with the jokes and a perpetual smile. He will be greatly missed!!

Matt, as Jacks brother became our son-law-by marriage. We loved him dearly. He had a heart of Gold, and always a smile on his face. He will be missed by our whole family.

I had the pleasure of meeting, and working for Matt while he was the superintendent at Foxfire. He made coming to work enjoyable. We built a friendship over the years, and always went out of his way to check in to see how my family, and myself were doing. Was stunned to hear the news of his passing. Known Matt since I was taller than him. One moment with him was like a lifetime and he never missed a beat. He was our little brother and part of the family. Feeling for the Cones and Nivers and all his friends who lost a great soul.
