I am so sorry to hear this news of Anne's passing. Anne was such an angel for me when she worked for our real estate company selling Osprey Village. She was such a wonderful Christian lady and had given me a crystal angel that I treasured and just passed on recently to someone else who is also precious to me. She must have been the nudging spirit prompting me to pass along the guardian angel. She was loved and will be missed!

Although I haven't seen Ms. Anne in awhile, I will truly miss my "twin". Such a sweet and funny lady.

This breaks my heart. Mrs Anne was always a blessing to talk to. She would bring Sam up to our Produce stand and visit. Thank you for being you. My kids and i will truly miss you.

Anne Jones was, without question, a ray of sunshine, a positive influence, and a light for Christ who never met a stranger. It was a privilege and a joy to know her.

I have very fond memories of Anne who was my high school sweetheart for two and half years. We had more fun in those two and half years than most people in ten years. Anne was full of life and I am sure she is in heaven with her fun spirit and love of people. Our love and prayers go out to the family. They have always had a special place in my heart. May God bless them all. With love Jett and Geneva Darden

Maysie Anne Watkins Jones, 71, of Fernandina Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on July 25th, 2024, at her home.
Born on October 14th, 1952, in Waycross, GA, to the late Edison Lee Watkins, Sr. and Mary Ella (Taylor) Watkins. She grew up in Waycross, GA, and graduated from Waycross High School in 1970. After graduating from Waycross Technical School, she worked for the Ware County Schools Superintendent’s Office. She married the late Frederick “Freddy” Jones of Folkston, GA, and the two moved to Athens, GA. Her two fondest professional adventures in Athens came from working with the Children’s Ministry at Tuckston United Methodist Church and as a bailiff under the late, honorable Judge Kent Lawrence.
Anne was an active member in churches everywhere she lived and was the embodiment of putting faith first in her life. Her love for Jesus was at the core of everything she did, and when she was physically able, she would not miss a Sunday service in person. More recently, however, she was an active online member of Redeemer Community Church.
Anne was a kind, patient, and loving Mother to her two sons and a second mother to all their friends. She would listen to countless stories in the kitchen and ensure those telling the stories were never left hungry. Anne was an educator at heart, a caring individual who opened her arms to all who needed an embrace.
Anne is survived by her two sons, James “Jake” Frederick Jones and Bradley “Brad” Raynor (Jen) Jones; three grandsons, James Braden Jones, Jackson Raynor Jones and Beauregard Andrew Jones; two sisters, Julie Watkins (Steve) Carter, Susan Watkins (Mike) Rozier; a brother, Edison Lee (Susan) Watkins, Jr., and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives whom she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 28th, 2024 at Oxley-Heard Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service. She will be laid to rest in Bosque Bello Cemetery.
