Michael Brian McGregor
2026-01-24
Michael Brian McGregor, 58, passed away on January 24, 2026, at Fernandina Beach, Florida, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Born September 30, 1967, to the late Alford Earl McGregor and Alma Anna McGregor (née Seidler) at the USAF Hospital in Wiesbaden, Germany, Michael lived in a variety of locations throughout his youth including Okinawa, Japan and RAF Mildenhall, England. After graduating from Lakenheath American High School in England in 1988, Michael and his family settled in Portland, Oregon.
Michael enlisted in the US Army in 1990 and especially enjoyed being stationed in Italy during his enlistment. After the Army, Michael returned to Oregon and later earned an Associates of Applied Science Computer and Information Systems degree in 2018. Michael relocated to St. Mary’s, Georgia in 2019 to be near family in Fernandina Beach, Florida.
Michael worked a variety of jobs but was always drawn to positions working with and serving the public. His easy-going personality, empathetic nature, and friendly communication style made him well suited for customer service roles of all levels.
Michael is survived by his children, Jonathan McGregor and Trevor McGregor; his mother, Alma Anna McGregor; his sisters, Kathleen Schwabe (Steve) and Kerri Standerwick (Jared); and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Alford Earl McGregor.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
Michael will be laid to rest at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
