It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Stephen Maier of Fernandina Beach on November 7, 2024.

Born on March 1,1969 to Charles and Kathleen Maier, he grew up on Lake Erie in Port Clinton, Ohio and graduated from Port Clinton High School. After graduation Michael moved to England and began a grand adventure that lasted for 20 years. Over those many years he lived in Cornwall, London, and Wales. Michael enjoyed attending music festival venues throughout England, always supported his beloved football team the Arsenal, and made life long friends.

After he returned home to Fernandina Beach, he started his own landscaping business and began his life with Mary Ann, his life partner. He enjoyed nature and especially laughter. Michael had a wicked sense of humor and was always quick with a joke. His kindness was felt by many, and he will be missed terribly by all who knew and loved him.

Michael leaves behind his parents Charles and Kathleen Maier, his sister Kristin Maier, his sister Suzanne Maier-Flores, his nieces Kelsey Adolph and Henna Gavem, his nephew Ryan Adolph, and the love of his life Mary Ann McKee.

The family is planning a celebration of life closer to his birthday this spring.
