Mildred B. Fussell

Mildred Brewton Fussell, 99 of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on July 17, 2020 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, 14 days after admission for Covid-19.
Mildred was born in Evans County, Georgia to the late Mamie Osborne Brewton and Boyd Britton Brewton and was a former longtime resident of Fernandina Beach, Florida.
She was predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Robert L. Fussell of Fernandina Beach, Florida and two brothers, Millard H. Brewton of Savannah, Georgia and Ben Grady Brewton of Pembroke, Georgia.
She is survived by four children, Judy Bresnahan of St. Mary�s, Georgia, Robert Fussell, Jr.(Cathie) of Lake Toxaway, North Carolina, Nancy Loznicka (Jim) of Jacksonville, Florida, Jimmy Fussell of Kingsland, Georgia; one sister, Mary Cupka of Greensville, South Carolina and several nieces and nephews. Her extended family includes six grandchildren, Cindy Mixon Heeter (Tom), Eric Mixon (Amy), Jimmy Loznicka , Mary Ann Loznicka Carroll (Kris), David Fussell (Christine), and Briana Fussell Hamill (Cavan); ten great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Mildred will be laid to rest in a private family service with her husband at Jacksonville National Cemetery. Her request was that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Building Fund, First Baptist Church, 1600 S. 8th Street, Fernandina Beach, Florida 32034.

Judy, Cindy and Eric, I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Mildred�s passing. She was a very special lady. I think of her whenever I go to the beach. She always treated me like one of her grandchildren. She will be missed.

Hello Nancy and Jimmy, I�m so sorry for the loss of your mom. I remember her fondly. She always welcomed me into your house and invited me on a few camping trips with the family. I have wonderful memories of camping at Fort Clinch and I recall going to church there too. Sending love and sympathy.
