Mildred E. Albert

Mrs. Mildred Eleanor Albert, age 84, of Amelia Island, passed away on Monday evening, May 30, 2016 at the Warner Center for Caring in Fernandina Beach, FL.

Born in New York City, NY, she was one of three daughters born to the late Frederick William and Sidonia Pepa Wolf. After growing up in New Jersey, her family moved to Newburgh, NY. She was a graduate of Wallkill Senior High School, Class of 1949. In 1951, on a blind date, she met a young West Point Cadet, Robert James Albert, who would become her husband on June 7, 1953. The newlyweds made their first home in Fort Hood, TX. After her husband�s discharge from the U.S. Army, the Alberts lived for many years in Pittsburgh, PA as her husband pursued his career with US Steel. Mrs. Albert remained at home raising their family. Once their younger children were old enough, Mrs. Albert worked as a Teacher�s Aide at Fort Couch Middle School in the Upper St. Clair School District of Pittsburgh for 25 years. She and her husband moved to Fredericksburg, VA in 1995 where they lived until moving to Amelia Island in 2014. The Alberts became members of the First Presbyterian Church of Fernandina Beach after settling on Amelia Island.

Millie was a kind-hearted, beautiful person who enjoyed making friends and nuturing those friendships. She loved entertaining, traveling, doing craft projects, playing Bridge, cooking, collecting antiques, and most of all, spending time with her family.

Mrs. Albert leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Robert �Bob� Albert, Amelia Island, FL, two sisters, Dolores Albert of TX and June Rudie and her husband, Don of NJ, Millie and Bob�s children, Steve Albert and his wife, Susan of NJ, Sherri Bryan of FL, Michael Albert and his wife, Angela of Ohio, Jim Albert and his wife, Karen of PA, Tracy Nedresky and her husband, Don of FL, grandchildren, Marty Albert and his wife, Sue Ellen of PA, Brian Albert and his wife, Christine of IL, Kevin Albert of MI, Zachary, Chad and Jacob Albert of PA, Ryan, Daniel and Kayla Nedresky of FL, two great grandchildren, Audrey and Noah Albert and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at a later date when Mrs. Albert is laid to rest in the West Point Cemetery, West Point, NY.
