Mr. Frank G. "Gatch" Lambright, Jr.
2020-10-28
On Thursday the 27th of October, 2020, Frank Gatchell "Gatch" Lambright Jr., loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, passed away at the age of 75.
Gatch was born in Fernandina Beach on December 14th, 1944 to Frank and Etta Mae Lambright. He was a proud employee of Rayonier where he worked until his retirement after nearly 40 years. He served his country in the Navy, served his church of First Baptist as a deacon, and served his family as a father and grandfather by being a role-model, a steady hand, and by just being a dad. On November 2nd, 1968 he married the love of his life, Alice and they went on to have two children, Frank and Wendy.
Gatch loved to fish and, lucky for fish everywhere, he was terrible at it, he loved to drive even though he had a hard time doing it safely, and he loved the mountains for the peace and tranquility he would find on early mornings while having his coffee. He loved his grandchildren, Hannah and Jacob, and wished every day his health had been better so he could have done all the things a grandfather does with his little grandchildren.
Gatch was preceded in death by his father, Frank Sr., and his mother, Etta Mae. He is survived by his wife Alice, his children Frank and Wendy, her husband JD Lester, his two grandchildren Hannah and Jacob, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday the 31st of October at 11am in the Bosque Bello Cemetery of Fernandina Beach.
The family asks that those attending wear masks for the consideration of others and their wellbeing.
In lieu of Flowers, the family also asks that a donation be made in Gatch's memory to his favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/give.html)
