Mrs. Linda Louise Mullis
2022-02-16
Louise Rozar Mullis, 108, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at her home in Fernandina Beach.
She was born in Dexter, GA on April 20, 1913, and was the daughter of Georgia Ann Rozar (Herndon) and Napoleon Harris Rozar. She married Fonzo F. Mullis on October 7, 1933 and they moved to Fernandina Beach, FL in 1942, where they lived and raised their family. They were married for 53 years until his passing in 1986.
During her life, Louise was an active member of Memorial United Methodist Church, as well as worked and volunteered in many endeavors on Amelia Island. She was most proud of her many years of volunteer work at Humphrey’s Memorial and Nassau General Hospital. During the 1980s and 1990s, Louise discovered a passion for travel, and ventured on excursions to Hawaii, Alaska, as well as guided tours through the eastern USA. In 1993 she embarked on a solo 3-week cross country trip to California to visit several grandchildren. Her greatest pleasure was her extended family; she spent much time enjoying her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be remembered for welcoming so many to her home, providing comforting food, and basking in the warmth of her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Fonzo, sons Roscoe Harris Mullis and Terrell Ray Mullis, and granddaughter Lisa Mullis Langshaw.
She is leaves behind her daughter Nellie Wold (Jerry); daughter-in law Melinda G. Mullis; grandchildren Lynann Mullis, Michael Mullis, Laura Lee Hostetter, Alan Mullis, Terrell Ray (T-Ray) Mullis II, Jennifer Sailors, Susan Hussey and Mark Mullis; 13 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
The family plans a private graveside service at Bosque Bello Cemetery in Fernandina Beach where she will be laid to rest with her husband and her son.
If desired, memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Memorial United Methodist
