Condolences to Leslie, David and Ben. Myra has been a part of my families life for many years. When Myra, my mother Lou May, and Linda Campbell got together, a great time was had. Myra always wore a smile, even in tough times. She would visit my mother often when she went into a nursing home. She was just a great human being. Now they are reunited in heaven, laughing and having a good time! They deserve it.

When I was young I remember going to visit Yaya (Mrya Jones) up in Fernandina Beach. My older sister Jillian and I play with this HUGE can of pennies for hours on her living room carpet. I remember she loved going to Applebee's with us and she would always order sweet tea. One Christmas Yaya gave my cousins, sister and I these cute little lucy bear dolls. They had little bean bags in them you could warm up in the microwave to help with ear aches. I still have my lucy bear and to still day when I warm up the bean bag inside for my little girl (Melody) I brings back so many childhood memories. My Yaya was a very kind and gently grandma with the sweetest southern accent you can have. She will be missed.
Myra Ann Landress Jones

Myra Ann Landress Jones, 86, a native of Fernandina Beach, died on September 8, 2026 at her home. She was born June 6, 1940, to the late Raymond and Inez Roberts Landress.
Myra was a proud member of the Fernandina Beach High School graduating class of 1958, a member of Springhill Baptist Church and a University of Florida Gator Booster. She was retired from the US government as a legal assistant with the United States attorney in New Hampshire, Florida Veterans Administration and Federal Aviation Administration. More recently she worked for the School Board of Nassau County and Fernandina Beach Realty for 20 years before her retirement in 2018 at the age of 78.
In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her sister, Linda L. Campbell and her husband John C. (J.C.) Campbell Sr.
Myra is survived by her two sons, Benjamin Beatty of Fernandina Beach and David Beatty of Kissimmee, Florida and her daughter, Leslie Campbell and her husband James (Jimmy) of Fernandina Beach. She is also survived by her two nephews, John C. (Jack)Campbell Jr. and his wife, Lisa of Suwanee, Georgia and Mark Campbell Fernandina Beach; her four grandchildren Lauren Campbell Meyers and her husband Joshua, Jeff Campbell, Jillian Ethridge and her husband Tony and Dayna Bishop and her husband Colton; five great grandchildren, Eleanor, Benjamin, and Henry Meyers and Melody, and Harmony Bishop with a sixth great grandchild, baby Ethridge, due in January. Myra has also been the surrogate grandmother of her grandnephews John Christopher (Chris) Campbell III and his wife Sara and Jacob (Jake) Campbell and Myra’s beloved five great grandnieces; McKenzie, Quinn, Addie, Amelia, and Ellie Campbell.
The family will receive friends Oxley- Heard Funeral Directors from 2:00 until 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 27, 2026 with funeral services beginning at 3:00 PM in the Burgess Chapel with Chaplain Jackie Hayes officiating.
She will be laid to rest with her parents at Bosque Bello Cemetery.
