Nancy Broughton, age 83, of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018.

She was born and raised in Plattsburgh, New York. Her early days were spent with her best friend, Reba, an Airedale. Reading was always her favorite thing to do. In the winter, she ice-skated on the local football field and summers were spent at Plattsburgh Municipal Beach on Lake Champlain. She went to the Y dances and loved Elvis. She spent hours talking on the phone to friends. She took singing lessons and performed in the Mercado, Pirates of Penzance and Guys & Dolls.

Nancy met her husband, Walt, while studying nursing in college. She began her career as a school nurse and also taught health education. She had two sons, David (Deborah) and John (Glenda), four grandchildren, Chrissy (Mike), Ben, Jonathan, and Chris and four grandchildren, Michael, Hayden, Erin and Jonah.

Nancy worked as a nurse in Austin and volunteered with the Texas Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for many years. She loved volunteering with House of Friends and was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church

Nancy will be remembered for her quick wit and the love she gave to her many friends and family.
