Neil Alford Nevin

Mr. Neil Alford Nevin, age 84 of Yulee, Fl passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018 at his residence.

He was born in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Robert H. and Eva Mae (Smith) Nevin. After graduating from Andrew Jackson High School and attending Jacksonville University, Mr. Nevin enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served honorably in the 1950�s. While in service to his country he enjoyed all manner of sports including baseball and boxing.

After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, he began his career as a Fire Fighter in Jacksonville, a job he truly loved. He retired in the late 1980�s, but continued being active, enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.

Mr. Nevin relocated to Yulee, Florida in the late 1970�s. He was an avid fisherman and loved gardening. His �green thumb� is not only evident in his own yard, but he was also a much sought after speaker for local area community gardens and Camellia Society.

He loved people and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He never shied away from hard work and his garden showed it.

Mr. Nevin was a faithful member of Blackrock Baptist Church.

He leaves behind his wife, Patricia Nevin of Yulee, Florida; son, Robbie (Jenny) Nevin of Yulee, Florida, Neil (Susan) Nevin, Jr., of Clarksville, Tennessee, daughter, Stacia (Bruce) LaDue of Milton, Florida; stepchildren, Kathy (Tony) Whitehead of Charlotte, North Carolina, Chuck Belisario of Jacksonville, Florida, Karen (George) Lewis of Fleming Island, Florida, Marty Rhoden of Preston, Georgia, Patricia (Michael) Manucy of St. Augustine, Florida as well as many, many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Blackrock Baptist Church in Yulee, Florida with Pastor John Kasper and Pastor Frank Camarotti officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the hour of service at the church.

The family requests that donations be made in Mr. Nevin�s memory to The Blackrock Baptist Church Building Fund.
