Mr. Otis H. Bowden, II age 92 of Amelia Island, FL passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at the Warner Center for Caring.
He was born on January 2, 1928 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to the late Otis Hearne Bowden and Donna W. Trice Bowden.
Mr. Bowden earned his Bachelor�s of Science degree and Master�s in Business Administration degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. His long and distinguished career as an executive recruiter started in 1967. He earned recognition as one of the top executive search recruiters in America in 1991, 1993 and 1995 editions of a book titled �The Career Makers: America�s Top Executive Recruiters�. He was well respected within the profession.
Among his many pursuits, Mr. Bowden served on college, civic and seminary boards for many years. He served as a Trustee for Alderson-Broaddus College, on the Board of Directors of the Southern Seminary Foundation, the Advisory Board for The Salvation Army, The Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary & Eastern College Board of Directors, he was a member of the American Marketing Association; past director of the Association of Executive Search Consultants and of the Society of Automotive Engineers. He owned and operated the executive search firm Bowden Global, LTD.
Mr. Bowden was a private pilot and also enjoyed golfing and biking. He attended church at Amelia Island Plantation Chapel.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Helen Carol Lamar Bowden.
He leaves behind his wife, Joan Keener Bowden of Amelia Island, Florida; her children, James C. Keener, Jr. and his wife Elaine of Cumming, Georgia, Russell G. Keener and his wife Angie of Marietta, Georgia, Amanda M. Agnew of Greenville, South Carolina; her grandchildren, Stephen Keener and his wife Tania, Alison Francis and her husband Ryan, David Keener and his wife Caitlin, Austin Keener, Aaron Keener, Justin Keener and Bella Agnew and her great-grandchildren, Julia, Carter & Avery Francis and Mila Keener.

He will be laid to rest beside his first wife in Stuttgart, Arkansas.
