I remember him from church at Nassau Baptist Temple. He always had a smile on his face and was usually at the door way. Since then he always made me smile and landed my day as he would always post on face book funny and happy memes. I know he loved a beautiful sky, a funny joke, and our Lord. I will pray for your comfort Nro Pete and Sod Joanie. I know what it is like loosing a son. May The Lord Jesus comfort you.

Owen Keith "O.K." Jones

2024-06-16

Owen Keith “O.K.” Jones, 51, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024 at the Warner Center for Caring.

He was born in Jacksonville but was raised in Nassau County and was the son of Revere P. “Pete” and Joan Scott Jones.

“O.K.” graduated from Nassau Christian Academy and held dual master’s degrees in biology and chemistry from the University of South Florida. He worked as a real estate agent for many years in and around Fernandina Beach.

He enjoyed riding 4 wheelers and motorcycles and cruising around in his black mustang. “O.K.” was a fun-loving young man who would joke around with those who knew him but in doing so he could always be counted on to be respectful to all who knew him.

Part of his respectfulness was how much he loved his parents. He was a big part of their lives and his extended family at large. His mother could always count on him to call her every night at 11:00 PM, just to say good night to her.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Ernest and Corine Scott and Revere and Bertha Jones.

He leaves behind his parents, Pete and Joan Jones; his uncle and aunt, Randy and Cristy Scott as well as numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 19,2024 beginning at 2:00 PM at Springhill Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Winburn officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:00 PM until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Claxton, Kevin Trantham, Buck Scott, Dennis Scott, Louis Scott, and Gerald Lovitt. Greg Perry will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.

He will be laid to rest at Green Pine Cemetery.
