My heart saddens at hearing this news. Mrs. Patricia was a fine and generous lady and I always enjoyed eating lunch at the Marina and seeing her. My prayers go out to her and her family and my deepest condolences to them. She will surely be missed!

I spent many hours at the Marina restaurants both Barca charter Captain and a Fernandina Beach Police Officer. Patricia had a special relationship with our Police dog “Hassler” and often shared tasty morsels fro the Restuarant , a little known relationship. Gallons of coffee consumed, many conversations and a lasting. friendship that will forever be with me. R.I.P. Patrica bless your soul and rest now as you deserve.

As a rookie police officer in 1989, Sgt. Denny Bell took me to the Marina Restaurant. That’s where I met Trisha. She looked at me and said she had some work to do. Trisha was the “unofficial mother” to the new officers at FBPD. She taught me—and all of us—about local politics and culture. At her tables inside the restaurant or on the bench out front, we learned how to laugh, how to love, and how to treat people the right way. We never went hungry, and we never faced a problem she couldn’t help us solve with her wisdom and guidance. Over more than 20 years, I watched her be fiercely loyal to her employees, her family, and her friends. Today, I cry—not tears of sadness, but tears of joy—because I know she is still the same person, just in a different place. She was a true landmark in this community. To all of her family: my deepest condolences. Trisha is greatly missed.

Loved me some Patricia. She ALWAYS took care of us and made us feel special. The crew from the News-Leader were always welcomed with with arms and a quick seat at a ‘reserved’ table - or so the tourists thought. I really was sad to have not seen you since the restaurant closed. I was recently with some friends out to lunch and did the Tricia whistle (IYKYK) and everyone started laughing. That whistle probably is stuck inside the minds of former employees and customers who knew she or someone needed something quick. What a great honor it was to call her my friend. Never forget the day she chased some of us down who passed her restaurant and went to Brett’s. We had to come back begging to re-enter her doors. Haha!! Rest in peace Patricia!

Rest in Peace my dear friend. We were both in the Ribault Class of 1969. I always loed to walk in her restaurant and see her smiling face and she always had a hug for me as so I did for her. She will be dearly missed

We came into town in the early 70s. Patricia welcomed us and became part of our belonging. With a warm smile and a place to feel like home. She took great care of “the folks”. Making us feel special with Marina crab dip and always a table to share family time. Patricia took great care of the Fernandina families. In small ways, her welcome became a favorite memory of so many. A very special lady. A true Fernandina friend to many. She will be missed.

Ms. Trish was such a caring and kind woman. I will always cherish the memories I have of her. She was always a fighter for those who needed her help. If you were a friend, then you were family and she always let you know she cared. I’m going to miss running into her shopping but Heaven gained a beautiful soul and wonderful angel. Miss you my sweet friend. See you again someday.

I am very sorry fo hear of Patricia’s passing. She was a great force of nature. Didn’t put up with slackers but such a generous heart. I so missed the Marina when it closed. My Eddie and I started going there in 1980 just before we married. It was our go to place. Eddie and I both thought a lot of her. She was so wonderful to me after his passing. My sympathies to the family and friends who loved her. She will be missed for sure.

Trish, I was so sorry to hear this sad news. You have always been such a caring and supportive presence in my life. I have so many wonderful memories with you that I will always cherish. Many memories that I will treasure, most started at The Marina Resturant. The place where I fell in love with Hamburgers, with cheese, pickles and mustard. You always made sure I had a plateful of pickles... as a Godmother you did you best to make me feel special. Im glad you got to meet my kids but health kept you away the last few years. I do have some regrets about that. Sending you my love now and forever.

. Patricia Irene Toundas, 76, of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, in Jacksonville, FL.
She was born on St Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1949, in Cambridge, OH to the late Michael Toundas and Alice Tremoulis Toundas. She was a proud graduate of Jean Ribault High School in Jacksonville, FL.
She was a devoted sister and aunt, attending every recital and sporting event the family had. She enjoyed traveling, visiting Disney, sitting around campfires, debating local and national affairs, reading her bible nightly, her dog Peaches, and watching movies and sports.
She grew up around the restaurants that her parents owned in Cambridge, OH, Kentwood, LA, Tallahassee, FL, Havanna, FL, Jacksonville, FL, and ultimately in Fernandina Beach, FL when they acquired the Marina Restaurant.
Patricia was the owner and operator of the Marina Restaurant in downtown Fernandina Beach, FL for 40 years, after taking over for her parents in 1982. Most days, she could be found at her front table sharing a meal and conversation with anyone from mill workers, teachers, and judges to fellow restaurant owners as all were welcome.
She proudly hosted U.S. President George H.W. Bush, Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, news anchor Walter Cronkite, multiple Governors, countless actors, touring musicians, and millions of patrons throughout the years, however her finest accomplishment was always looking after her employees in good times and bad. A fiercely loyal and giving soul, she’ll be greatly missed by the community and all who knew her.
She was a member of St John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church in Jacksonville, FL and the Fernandina Beach Chamber of Commerce.
Patricia leaves behind her brother Bill Toundas (Pam) of Jacksonville, FL, her sister Michelle Tiliakos (John) of Yulee, FL, her niece Athena Carnley (Clint) of Yulee, FL, her nephews Nick Tiliakos (Cassie) of Yulee, FL and Michael Toundas of Jacksonville, FL, and her great nieces Makayla Carnley, Mia Carnley, and Layne Tiliakos of Yulee, FL.
