Patricia S. Johnson

Mrs. Patricia S. Johnson, age 88, died August 26, 2022, in her home in Fernandina Beach, FL. She is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Dr. David G. Johnson.

She is survived by two daughters, Catherine J. Thomas of Yulee, FL, Rebecca J. Larsen (and Eric) of Fernandina Beach, FL and two sons, David G. Johnson, Jr. (and Katharine) of Branford, FL, and Joseph K. Johnson (and Nalini) of Naperville, IL, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Additionally, she is predeceased by a sister, Regina S. Shea and two brothers, Jesse E. Spencer, Jr., and Donald L. Spencer.

Mrs. Johnson received her degree in nursing and worked at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY and King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Frankfort, KY. Later she worked with her husband in his dental practice and retired in 2002. Pat and Dave moved to Fernandina Beach, FL in 2004 where she was a member of the Peck Center and Newcomers Bridge Clubs, the Fernandina Beach Golf Club, Fernandina Beach Golf Club Women’s 18-hole League and the US Power Squadron.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley Heard Funeral Home. A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Mrs. Johnson will be laid to rest with her husband at the Jacksonville National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257-2425.
