Paul (and Joanie) made the best stuffed artichokes. Thanks to JJs on Maui for the recipe. He was so much fun to be around, always good for a hug and something to make you smile. We lost a good man too young.

I have great memories of when Paul and Joan visited me in California, the great times we had in New Mexico and David and I visiting in Florida. So many experiences.

We willAlways remember our years of parties in Hasbrouck Heights, gatherings at each others homes with our community of friends, and most of all, ski trips as couples along with wine, cheese, hot tubs and laughing till it hurt. And then came all the wedding fun! Paul will always be in our hearts

What can anyone say about Paul? To know him was to love him. Paul was a friend from 5th grade and all through our formative years and boy did we form! LOL. He was always a blast to be with. We shared some amazing memories and grew our friendship even more as we "grew up". So many fun times from Altar Boys (yes, he was an Altar Boy), through Boy Scouts, Universal Club and the benchmark Florida trip! I love you, Bep! R.I.P.

I have a lot of memories of our good times. Paul and I were tennis partners and won a lot of double tournaments. I was a good player but Uncle Pauley was a lot better than me. It was him that pulled us through a lot of our matches. One day hanging out, I gave him the nickname "Uncle Pauley" Why? I have no idea but from that day on he was Uncle Pauley. You are missed buddy and may you rest in peace.

Paul A. Koeppel

2025-07-04

Paul A. Koeppel, 67, of Yulee, FL unexpectedly passed away on July 4, 2025.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Joan Koeppel; his mother, Linetta Koeppel and two sisters, Fran DeSteno (brother-in-law, Bruce) and Lin Marie Valent (brother-in-law, Ralph).

Uncle Paul had many nieces and nephews whom he treasured. He shared a special bond with each of them from star gazing, sports, late night calls or texts just to let them know that he was thinking about them.

Paul grew up in Ridgefield NJ. He graduated from Upsala College in East Orange, NJ with a degree in Finance and Business Administration.

Paul’s career began at Kulite Semiconductor Products in Ridgefield, NJ as assistant controller and ended with Computron/Axs-One (a computer financial software and development company) in Rutherford, NJ as a systems analyst.

After college graduation he moved to Hackensack and Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. Shortly afterwards, he purchased his first home in Basking Ridge, NJ and several years later relocated to Rio Rancho, NM. Early retirement brought him back to the East coast, where he fell in love with Amelia Island and Yulee, Florida where he settled down. Paul spent his days enjoying the outside. He loved riding his bicycle around the island, walking on the beach, relaxing in the backyard, whistling along with the birds, watching people fish around the lake in his backyard or just sitting with Joan reminiscing about all the wonderful times they shared over the years.

Paul had a love for life, adventure and travel. He loved meeting new people at each place, who all became lifelong friends.

Paul was an avid sports fan, who spent many hours cheering on his Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Lakers. Besides cheering on his teams he also loved to play tennis, softball, basketball and golf (and amazingly had 2 holes in one over the years).

Donations may be made in Paul’s memory to two charities that were very close to his heart -
Lupus Foundation of America and JDRF Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

On Paul’s birthday, December 14th, look up at the stars, grab your favorite drink, raise your glass and celebrate the life of Paul.
