Peggy Anna Lowe, 70, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026, in Fernandina Beach, FL.

Born on March 28, 1956, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the late John Harold Lowe and Kathryn Henrietta Casey, she grew up in nearby Duncannon PA and graduated high school in 1974.

Shortly afterward, she joined the United States Marine Corp, serving her country for several years before settling down in Alexandria Virginia. There, she began a career as a software engineer for several defense contractors before retiring to Fernandina Beach, Florida in 2024.

Peggy had a love of learning – taking classes at Northern VA Community College to continue her education. She enjoyed various crafts, loved nature, history, travel and trying new and different experiences. She always looked for something off the beaten path.

While Peggy never married or had children of her own, she doted on her nieces and nephews as if they were her own.

Peggy leaves behind her brother, Steven John (his wife Betty Ann) Lowe and his children, Mackenzie and Stephanie, her sister, Cynthia May (husband the late James Leslie) Hazen and her children, Leslie and Johnathan. She also leaves a large extended family, including 4 grand-nephews as well as many cousins.
No memorial services are planned at this time.

Donations may be made in her memory to her preferred charity, St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
