Peggy Joan Todd

Peggy Joan Todd, 86, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2022 at Fernandina Beach Nursing and Rehabilitation.

She was born in Lancaster, SC and was a daughter of the late John D. and Minnie Garris. She had lived in Fernandina Beach since 1954 and was married to Harold I. Todd, Sr.

Mrs. Todd will be remembered for her simple and kind ways. She considered her role as a homemaker to the be the most important thing she could ever do. Raising her children, loving to cook for her family, willing to feed whoever might stop by were hallmarks of this gentile southern lady. She was also known for having a soft spot for stray animals. She was always willing to take in an animal she thought needed her care.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brothers, William and John D. Neely, Jr., and her sisters, Sarah Redford and Rebecca Gunner.

She leaves behind her husband of 65 years, Harold I. Todd, Sr of Hilliard; her children, John D. Todd, Sr. of Fernandina Beach, Robby (Rhonda) Todd of Lexington, NC, Harold I. (Sandi) Todd, Jr. of Fernandina Beach, Kathy Todd (David) Nease of Fernandina Beach; two sisters, Katherine Todd of Lancaster, SC and Linda Bundy of Ft. Lawn, SC as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren and large extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Todd will be laid to rest at a graveside funeral service on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Hughes Cemetery in Yulee.
