Condolences:

Kim Lyons Willis

I was so excited to see Shawn at our last reunion...I hadn't seen him in over 30 years, but time doesn't change true friendship! Shawn was the first friend I made when we moved to 15th Street in 1978...he was my street ball playing, ramp jumping on your bike, basketball playing, joke telling, hug giving friend. He was one of a kind and his friendship will always be remembered.

Robert "Shawn" Haddock

2023-09-19

Robert "Shawn" Haddock passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at the Warner Center for Caring.

Shawn Haddock was a native of Fernandina Beach, FL, graduating from Fernandina Beach High School in 1988 and the University of North Florida with a Business Administration degree in 1995. He also attended the University of Alabama. He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Fernandina Beach. Growing up, Shawn was known for his athleticism, enjoying football, baseball, basketball, surfing, skateboarding, skiing, whitewater rafting, and lifeguarding. He was a lifelong fan of the Florida Gators and Baltimore Orioles, and enjoyed tailgating and watching games with friends and family.

As an adult, he lived in Jacksonville and spent many years in Georgia, where his favorite hobby was fishing on the Satilla River, but he always returned to Fernandina to spend time cooking and watching Family Feud with his grandmother. An accomplished handyman, Shawn could fix everything from the smallest repair to whole room remodels. Shawn loved life and the people around him, and he always tried to be kind to others and lend a helping hand. He had an outstanding sense of humor and nothing made him happier than sharing a laugh with his friends and family. Shawn passed away at age 53 in Fernandina Beach.

He is survived by his parents, Mark Haddock (Trish), Kay Stockstill (Joel); grandmother, Bertha Kelly; brother, Kevin Haddock; uncle, Greg Haddock (Cindy); aunt, Claudia Haddock; aunt, Sue Powell; cousin, Meredith Haddock Lane (Brian); cousin, Trey Haddock (Kathy); cousin, Elisha Mock (Jonathan); cousin, Eric Powell; cousin, Kristin Boyette (Mark); loving friend, Debra Butler; and an island full of extended family and loved ones. He is predeceased by his grandfather, Claude Haddock; grandmother, Lola Bunker; grandfather, Ed Kelly; uncle, Tim Powell; and second cousin, Dan Bowen.

Those who loved Shawn are invited to join the family in celebrating his life on Saturday, September 23rd at Oxley-Heard. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Shawn will be laid to rest at Bosque Bello Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to Barnabas Center.
