Robert Earl Bobby Barnes, Jr.
2020-01-21
Robert Bobby Earl Barnes, Jr., of Yulee, passed away Monday, January 20, 2020 at his home.
Born in Jacksonville, Bobby was the son of the late Robert Earl and Lou Jean McClain Barnes. He graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1965 and proudly served in the U. S. Navy. He served aboard the USS Repose during the Vietnam War.
He and his wife Linda moved to Yulee in 1972. Bobby retired from Rayonier in February of 2016 where he was a lead maintenance worker for the fire suppression systems.
Bobby will always be remembered as a fun loving person who was loved by all that knew him. Always helpful and giving, Bobby was always the one who would help but never seemed to need help. There was nothing he enjoyed more that camping, riding his side by side and boat trips to Silver Glenn and St. Augustine and the sandbars.
He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Linda Mims Barnes; his children, Dawn (Brian)Rowe and Daryn Barnes, all of Yulee; his grandchildren, Lindsay (Tony) Albritton, Logan (Michael) Roland, Triston Barnes and Blake Rowe; his great grandchildren, Lofton Albritton and Harper Roland as well as other extended family members.
His family is planning to celebrate Bobbys life at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at his and Lindas home.
