Robert �Bobby� Voelker passed on Sunday, October 8, 2017 in Amelia Island Florida. Born on April 6, 1961 in Baltimore, Maryland. Bobby grew up in Augusta, Georgia where he attended Augusta Christian and Augusta College. He was an outstanding Athlete, and excelled at basketball in his younger days.

Bobby moved to Amelia Island in 1985 and began working in the recreation department at Amelia Island Plantation.He soon found his passion and direction to their Golf operations and achieved membership with the PGA as a class A member. As a golf professional, his career spanned over 30 years, during which time he met and became friends with people from all over the world.He helped thousands of members and residents learn the game of golf and he did it with kindness and a wonderful sense of humor.

Bobby was also an avid fisherman and found both enjoyment and serenity fishing the many waterways on the island.
It was Bobby�s endearing personality and sweet nature that touched the hearts of all who met him. He will forever be remembered in our hearts and memories.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Voelker and Margaret Taylor Voelker.

Survivors are Annette Roberts, daughter, Sierra Roberts, Rev. Patricia Roberts and family, brother John Voelker (Julie), nieces; Amanda and Jessica Voelker and Amanda Light and family, step mother Martha Sweat and family, Spencer Wheeler and family as well as extended families and friends.

Services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 21, 2017 in the Amelia Island Plantation Chapel.
