Robert Kenneth Little

Mr. Robert �Bobby� Kenneth Little, age 90, of Nassauville, passed away on Friday evening, August 26, 2016 at the Warner Center for Caring in Fernandina Beach.

Born in Gadsden, AL, his family moved to Nassau County in the early 1930s. As a teenager Mr. Little joined the U.S. Army where he was trained as a Paratrooper. Upon being honorably discharged, he returned to Nassau County and worked as a Maintenance Superintendent for the Nassau County School Board until opening R.K. �Bobby� Little Construction in the mid 1960s. He served many of Nassau County�s residents as a General Contractor until taking a semi retirement in1988. Even after saying he had retired, he continued to have �projects�. Mr. Little was always involved in building something for someone, whether it was a new shed or lending a helping hand and advice to a family member.

He was a self taught musician and was known to host many Bluegrass and Gospel jam sessions in his living room playing his guitar and or harmonica.

Mr. Little and his family have been longtime member of Springhill Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School, served on various committees and was instrumental in the planning and construction of the new Family Life Center.

He is preceded in death by a son, Robert Gregory Little, who passed away in 2007.

He leaves behind, his wife of 72 years, Bertha Kate �Peaches� Wilder Little, three sons and their wives, Jody and Linda Little, Timmy and Lynette Little, Jay and Betty Little, a daughter and her husband, Jetta and Bruce Ward, all of Nassauville as well as fifty two grand, great grand and great great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Little will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Springhill Baptist Church with Reverend Bill Wing, officiating.

Mr. Little will be laid to rest in the Wilder Family Cemetery in Nassauville.

His family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 � 7:00 pm at Oxley Heard.
