Robert Lloyd Herrington

Robert “Bobby” Lloyd Herrington, 87, of Yulee passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Baptist Medical Center, Beaches, in Jacksonville Beach.

Born in Screven, GA he was a son of the late Cecil and Mary Aspinwall Herrington.

He and his young family moved to Yulee in the early 1960’s and he worked for Terminal Bag. He later began a career with the State of Florida as a Motor Carrier Compliance Officer and would retire after many years’ service with the State.

He loved his family dearly and thoroughly enjoyed fishing. Often called ‘Cat Fish’ by his friends and fellow fishermen, called ‘Grandpa’ by some, and ‘Friend’ by all.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Diana Herrington Starratt in 2015.

He leaves behind his wife, Wilma Daniels Herrington; his children, Linda Herrington, Darlene (Eddie Thompson) Herrington, Wayne (Kay) Herrington, Winston Anderson; four grandchildren, Jason Cooper, Clay Fletcher, Brandon Smith and Emily Bencal, great grand-daughter Annabelle Smith and several other extended family members.

Funeral services for Mr. Herrington will be held Friday, October 8, 2021, in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors beginning at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM.

He will be laid to rest in Screven City Cemetery in Screven, GA.
