Barbara Gatta

Kevin and Barbara Gatta

Bob “BD” was a dear friend from our children growing up together in Brooklyn. We reconnected when BD retired and we would get together with old neighborhood friends. When he moved to Florida, we kept in touch via texts and Christmas cards, and a surprise visit or two to Brooklyn was filled with great meals and old stories. We were saddened by the news of Bob’s pasding, and pray for him to rest in peace. We enjoyed being friends over the years. We love you, and God Bless you buddy!

I first met Bob when he purchased a car from us. You may remember it, a little Jaguar convertible. We had such a good time meeting him and always enjoyed touching base when we met on the streets of Fernandina. I know he struggled with his health but he was always upbeat it was easy to forget he was sick. Rest in peace Bob. I know you're going to get some incredible camera shots of heaven.

I knew him as BD he was older than me so I called him grandpa when I called to check in on him. He was so grateful to be alive and often would share that sentiment. BD was so creative and artistic it just came out of him in bursts of energy. He loved hitting golf balls off the roof, the artificial turf on his “lawn” and I mostly remember his love of his precious dog Bella who he attributed saving his life on many occasions. When Bella passed it crushed him. His new love came to him by way of a tiny brindle dachshund Rocco! I will miss his optimism and his joy in living everyday as a gift. ❤️Rest in peace my sweet friend. You will be missed by many who knew your heart. ❤️
