Robert William Schick, age 89 of Amelia Island, Florida passed away peacefully on Friday, June 2, 2023 while residing at Lakeside of Amelia Island.

Bob was born on September 5, 1933 to the late Fredrick and Alvina Schick in Brooklyn, NY. He grew up in Great Neck, NY and after graduation enlisted in the U.S. Navy stationed in Pensacola, FL. Bob received his Masters Degree in Engineering, and then began working at Unisys Corporation until retiring to Naples, Florida with his wife, Barbara, in 1995.

Moving to Amelia Island in 2003, Bob enjoyed playing tennis and golf, as well as attending sporting events. There were not many Army/Navy games missed by him. Bob was a member of the YMCA and the Kraft Tennis Partners, also being one of the founding partners. Bob spent many years with season tickets for the Amelia Music Theatre, Alhambra Dinner Theatre, and the Jacksonville Symphony.

Bob had an incredible sense of humor and storytelling was a skill he had like no other. “The Admiral” as he was lovingly known as will be greatly missed by family, friends and even strangers. His smile invited you in for a wonderful conversation.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, his brother, Fredrick “Buddy” and his sister, Ann. Bob’s life will continue to be honored by his loving friend, Ann Dubberly, his children, Robert Schick (Janette) and Susan Lee (Bill), along with his step-children, Linda Goff, Susan Rooksby and Kerry Muller. Bob will be remembered affectionately by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
