Rocco A. Toce III (Rock) 68 of Amelia Island, Florida passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at his home.
He was born on January 20, 1953 in Hartford, CT. He was the beloved husband of 51 years to Cheryl D. Toce, loving father to Rocco A. Toce IV and his wife Lesley also of Amelia Island; and fur grandbabies, Kona, Penny, Lexi , Finnegan and his verbal bantering feather-baby, Jake.
Rock was predeceased by his parents, Rocco A. and Joyce Toce, Jr. and by sisters, Joy (Jimmy) McLoughtin and Karen Toce.
He is survived by siblings, Asunda DiDomenico, Dino (Joanne) Toce and Paula (Gus) Liappes all of Connecticut. Rock is also survived by a large, loving extended family.
Rock retired from Western Connecticut State University as buildings superintendent in 2003; was a committed Christian who believed that treating all with compassion and love was most important. His legacy will be carried on by his son with whom he shared a special bond and love for cars, guns and motorcycles.
Rock’s kindness, humor and warm hugs will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him; as will his love for all things Pizza.
The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 followed by a service at 2:00 pm at Oxley-Heard Funeral Home 1305 Atlantic Ave, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034
