Ronald C. Rosener

2022-12-24

Ronald Charles Rosener, at age 90, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2022 surrounded by loving family.
He was born on April 20, 1932 in Jersey City NJ, the only child of Charles A. Rosener and Shirley Restevo Rosener.
Ron entered the Marines after High School and served 3 years during the Korean War. After an honorable discharge, then his marriage to Carrie he went to college and graduated from the University of Miami. He worked at a public golf course and the city works before joining the U.S. Defense Department as a computer system analyst and relocating to Battle Creek, Michigan where he worked for almost 30 years before retiring.
He was an avid reader of both fiction and history and enjoyed collecting guns – a hobby he shared with his grandson Billy. His other love was his dogs and later a few cats, once he was no longer able to care for his own, he always carried dog cookies in his pocket in case he ran into a dog while walking the halls of Lakeside.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Carrie A. Rosener and 2 sons, Ronald Charles Rosener Jr., Mark William Rosener and his wife Laura. He was blessed with 3 grandchildren, Mark William Rosener II ( Billy) and his wife Allie, Pamela Jean Fiddler and husband, Matthew and Catherine Lee Miller and husband, Chris as well as 8 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors on Monday, January 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made in his name to the Nassau Humane Society, 639 Airport Rd, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034 (904) 321-1647.
