Ruben Lee Bolden

Ruben Lee Bolden of Fernandina Beach, Florida passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at the Warner Center for Caring.

Born on November 28, 1928 in Blackshear, Georgia to the late Eddie Clarence and Emma (Norman) Bolden.

Ruben moved to Fernandina Beach in 1946 where he met his wife of 72 years Shirley (Rish) Bolden. He retired from the Container Corporation of America where he worked for 40 years.

Ruben enjoyed gardening and sharing his vegetables with family and friends. He was happiest when he was on his John Deere tractor working around his property. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Fernandina Beach. Mr. Bolden's gentle spirit and sweet smile was a gift to the world.

He is predeceased by his parents and his daughter, Brinda (Carl) Freeman.

Ruben leaves behind his sons, David (Aysegul) Bolden and Ronnie (Miriam) Bolden; daughter, Pam (Bill) Bradley; grandchildren, Shelby, Ivy, Cory, Alex, Isaac, Gabriel and A.J.

A service to remember and celebrate his life will be held Friday, December 15,2023 beginning at 3:00 PM in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors.

Mr. Bolden’s family asks rather than flowers, please make donations in his memory to the Warner Center for Caring, Community Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeast Florida.
