Mrs. Ruby C. Peeples, 86, of Fernandina Beach, Fl. passed away Tuesday February 6, 2018 at U.F. Health of Jacksonville.

A native of Colleton County, South Carolina, Mrs. Peeples was a daughter of the late Cebran and Geneva Jones Murdaugh. Growing up in Ravenel, South Carolina she graduated from high school there.

Mrs. Peeples met and married Mr. Kirby Peeples in January of 1950. Their marriage would last 68 years. In 1954 they moved to Jacksonville. They made their home in Fernandina Beach since 1960.

For many years Mrs. Peeples worked for the S.H. Kress Company and later became associated with Anchor Hocking in Jacksonville. She was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Peeples was preceded in death by her son, James Peeples who passed away in 2017.

She leaves behind her devoted and loving husband, Mr. Kirby T. Peeples of Fernandina Beach, four sons, Daniel Peeples and his wife Helen of Fernandina Beach, Charles Allen Peeples of Fernandina Beach, Rocky I. Peeples of Altamonte Springs, Paul Peeples and his wife Christine of Fernandina Beach, a daughter, Susan Hartman of Kentucky; a brother, Harold Murdaugh of Summerville, South Carolina; eight grandchildren, Amanda, Jamie, Michael, Crystal, Jeniffer, Nicole, Eileen and Tony; 21 great grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 9, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors. She will be laid to rest at Bosque Bello Cemetery.
