Russell Edward Panke

Russell Edward Panke passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
Russell Edward Panke called Fernandina Beach, Florida home for many years—a place he truly loved and where he built a life full of hard work, simple joys, and lasting memories. Not long after high school, he began his career at Container, where he dedicated many years and worked his way up to become an electrical planner before retiring. He took great pride in his work and in the life it provided for his family.
Russell was a man who found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He loved being out on the water, especially on warm summer days, and looked forward to trips to Key West and going lobstering. He was a devoted Florida Gators fan—the kind who rarely missed a game and always had an opinion to share.
He had his own way of doing things, and he believed in doing them right. His truck was always spotless and his driveway never stayed covered in leaves for long. It wasn’t unusual to hear the blower going in the evening as he made one last pass, making sure everything was just the way he liked it. That attention to detail and quiet determination were part of what made him who he was.
In his later years, Russell faced serious health challenges. He remained at home, where he was lovingly cared for by his devoted wife, Brenda, who never left his side.
Russell will be remembered not for grand gestures, but for the steady and dependable way he lived his life—the pride he took in his work, the care he gave to his home and the simple moments he cherished, especially on the water or cheering on the Gators. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Linton Frederick Panke; his mother, Ruby Pauline Smith Panke and his brother, Frederick Glover Panke (Sarah).
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Brenda Mixon Panke his sister, Mary Ann Collins (Edward); his children, Paul Panke (Kristen), Russell Panke (Jennifer), Michelle Clubine (Ken), Misty VanHoose (Brad), Jason Rowland (Ashlie), and Jaime Wilcox (Cody); and his cherished grandchildren, Brenton, Hacey, Chloe, Rylei, Kendall, Colby, Jaxson, Jett, Jerzi, Olivia, Sophia, Kennedy, and Kit.
His caregiver Carol Olive that was there whenever we needed her, she became more like family.
A private celebration of life will be at a later date.
