Ruth Talley 91, of Fernandina Beach passed away on Friday July 20, 2018 at the Warner Center for Caring.

She was born on September 17, 1926 in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Roy G. and Mildred E. Thompson Lynam.

Mrs. Talley worked as an accountant and bookkeeper for various companies from 1945 until her retirement in 1981. She and her husband, William S. Talley moved to Hayesville, North Carolina in 1981 where she was an active member of Ledford�s Methodist Chapel, playing piano and organ. She was a two time breast cancer survivor.

She and her husband moved to Fernandina Beach in 2001 and Ruth enjoyed needle working, cross-stitching and embroidery.

In addition to her parents she is pre-deceased by her husband, William who passed away in 2003, her brothers, Bobby and Ralph Lynam, a grandson, Cody Sherwood in 2007 and granddaughter, Mary Mahek.

Mrs. Talley leaves behind her children, Paul W. Sherwood, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Bear, Delaware, Dale W. Sherwood and his wife, Gayle, of Fernandina Beach, Florida; a step daughter, Lynn D. Mahek of Claymont, Delaware; a sister, Ann Lambert of Wilmington, Delaware as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

There will be no local services.
