Mr. Kenneth Shane Strickland, age 45, of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away on Thursday morning, March 3, 2016 at the Warner Center for Caring in Fernandina Beach.

A native and lifelong resident of Fernandina Beach, he was the son of Jesse Kenneth Strickland and Mildred Louise Worth Rochester . Shane attended Fernandina Beach Elementary and Middle School before attending Nassau Christian Academy; where he excelled in football, basketball and as a Shortstop on the baseball team.

Mr. Strickland enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing poker.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jesse Kenneth �Kenny� Strickland, a former longtime employee of Container Corporation of America in Fernandina Beach.

He leaves behind, his daughter, Courtney Strickland, his mother, Louise Rochester, his step father, Perry Rochester, his sister, Kristi Strickland Henderson and two nieces, Kenzi Porter and Kaisen Henderson, all of Fernandina Beach, FL.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, on Sunday, March 6, 2016 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley Heard with Pastor Jackie Hayes, officiating.

His family will receive friends on Sunday, at the funeral home, from 1:00 pm until the hour of service.
