I was sadden to hear of Shawn’s passing. He will be missed by many, and I had know him since seventh grade. We all enjoyed the good times of early life through adulthood. He was a good friend to many.

I am saddened to read this. I have known the Dobrosky family all my life, graduating High School with Shawn's older brother, Billy, who also left us much too soon. Shawn was a great athlete. I was privileged to coach him in Senior League baseball many years ago. Ms. Carolyn and family, know that I am praying for God's grace to sustain you and His peace to surround you during this difficult time.

Shawn was one of the nicest guys in high school. Like by everyone. We work together at Amelia Island Plantation both as Belman and develop a close friendship. I had a chance to see Shawn a couple years ago at his home and took him out to lunch we talked about the good old days. Shawn shared his faith with me he was a devout Christian and loved the Lord. Take comfort in knowing that he is at home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It gives me happiness and peace. We will see each other again my friend.

Certainly, a sad day for the Class of 82". Growing up as back yard neighbors I have many fond childhood memories. Hopefully his family can take comfort in knowing he is at peace and how much respect he had from those that knew him.

I'm very sorry to learn of Shawn's passing. I remember Shawn as a seeker of fun (and mischief), quick to smile, star athlete, outstanding artist, and a great friend to many. Prayers for his family!

Shawn Patrick Dobrosky
2025-05-27
Shawn Patrick Dobrosky passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, at Baptist Hospital in Downtown Jacksonville following a brief illness.
He was preceded in death by his father, William E. Dobrosky, and his brother, William M. Dobrosky. He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Dobrosky; his children, Brannan Dobrosky and Amber Dobrosky; a grandson and granddaughter; his siblings, Terry Dobrosky and Dina Martin (Roger); and several nieces and nephews.
In his younger years, Shawn had a strong love for sports and excelled in football and baseball during high school. He later owned a tile business and worked throughout the Fernandina Beach area as well as in Augusta, Georgia.
Shawn was also a talented artist who enjoyed drawing—especially with pen and ink, his favorite form of expression.
He was raised at St. Michael’s Church, and his faith remained an important part of his life. Each morning, he made time for quiet reflection with his Bible and a cup of coffee—a routine that brought him peace and focus in his later years.
Though his journey had its share of challenges, his faith remained an anchor throughout his life. We take comfort in knowing he is now at peace and in the presence of his Savior.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Bosque Bello Cemetery beginning at 1:00PM
