Sherry Evelyn Johnson, 77, of Fernandina Beach passed away June 20, 2024 at Fernandina Beach Rehabilitation and Nursing.

Born in York, AL Sherry was a daughter of the late James E. Johnson, Jr. and Sara Phillips Johnson. She was raised in Decatur, AL and held multiple degrees from Samford University.

Sherry worked as a software engineer in the telecommunications industry including American Software and T-Mobile. She had made her home in Fernandina Beach for over 20 years where she enjoyed working, spending time at the beach and swimming.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother, James E. Johnson, III.

She leaves behind her sister, Jane Johnson and her husband, George of Decatur, AL; her nieces, Tanya Thackston and her husband Eric of Huntsville, AL; Jessica Parker and her husband, Allen of Falkville, AL as well as great nephews, a great niece, aunts, uncles and many cousins.

There are no plans for a local service but she will be remembered by services at later date in her hometown of Decatur, AL.
