Sonia Viera Harper

Sonia Harper, 54, of Fernandina Beach passed away at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville.

Born in The Bronx, New York, she was a daughter of the late Andre� Viera and Orpha Arguinzoni Viera.

She and her family lived in Fernandina Beach in the early 2000�s and returned here in 2013. She was an active member of Amelia Baptist Church and served as a music teacher at the Lindisfarne Hall School, which her daughters attend. Sonia also volunteered as choral director of the Allegiance Youth Choir.

In addition to work and church life, Sonia loved to sing and spend time with her children and her husband. She also enjoyed going to garage sales.

A loving and caring mother and wife, Sonia always worked with her children to make sure whatever the endeavor, they would do their best and persevere.

Sonia leaves behind her husband of 27 years, Glenn Harper of Fernandina Beach; their five children, a son, Andrew Harper, triplet daughters, Victoria, Rachel, and Samantha and their youngest daughter, Melinda, all of Fernandina Beach. She also leaves behind her mother, Orpha Viera of Fernandina Beach; her sisters and brothers, Deborah Ortiz of Orlando, FL, Rachel Cremeans of Melbourne, FL, Tomas Velez of Harmony, FL and Doreen Rodriguez of St. Augustine as well as several other extended family members.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at Amelia Baptist Church on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 2:00 PM with Dr. H. Neil Helton, Pastor officiating.

Sonia was a beautiful light who blessed everyone around her. She will be greatly missed by all. Our prayers and thoughts are with all her family and friends. She is resting in the arms of her Savior and with her loved ones above. Our loss is Heaven�s gain.
