Stephen Carl Johnson

2020-12-20

Stephen Carl Johnson, age 68 of Fernandina Beach, Florida passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Baptist Medical Center-Nassau.

He was born in Brunswick, Georgia to the late Walter and Sadie Nettles Johnson.

Stephen graduated Fernandina Beach High School, Class of 1970 and shortly thereafter started working at a truck stop that was located at the corner of I-95 and A1A. He soon opened and operated Steve Johnson Automotive located on 8th Street in Fernandina Beach, Florida. The shop later moved to 14th Street.

In his spare time, Stephen loved to play golf with his buddies and enjoyed working on his property, but he especially loved being with his family and friends.

He leaves behind his wife, Pamela Johnson of Fernandina Beach, Florida; son, Kyle Stephen Johnson of Jacksonville, Florida, Thad Orlo Johnson of Fernandina Beach, Florida; brother, Walter Wayne Jonson and his wife Terri of Yulee, Florida; sisters, Sherry Elaine Conner of Yulee, Florida, Brenda Lynn Johnson of Fernandina Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Aaron Johnson and his wife Krysa, Joshua Johnson, Harley Johnson, Shelby Johnson, Kylie Johnson, Jessie Johnson, Levi Johnson; great-grandchildren, Jonah Johnson and Dylan Johnson.

Services are planned for a time later next year.

Aww I was heartbroken to hear this.i took care of him in Baptist Nassau. He was such a good and wonderful patient. I told him I got my car worked on at his shop. And that Thad is so nice and all the other staff members too. He smile and said we care about people and we are honest . I said I truly believe you. God pray for all his family Thur there loss. RIp Mr. Johnson.

Steve will be missed by all, I had a lot of fun times playing on Steve�s softball team. We also played golf occasionally. He was a great person.

It�s really sad to see Steve go he was a really great man I worked for him for a lot of years he gave me a start when I was a 20 year old dummy we butted heads a lot but I loved him like a father

I met Steve when he started his business on 8 th. Street, he became my go to person for any auto repairs, became a very good friend, I feel so sorry for all the family, he loved his family so much, he will be greatly missed!!
