Terry passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and friends.

She was the daughter of Dorothy Seeger Dettor and Meredith Dettor and sister of Jerry Detter of Baltimore, Maryland. Terry graduated from Forest Park High School
and secretarial school. Terry began her career at Chesapeake Cadillac, and later worked at Dulaney Vernay Printing Company in Baltimore.

Terry married Louis Walger in 1968 and inherited an adventurous life, travelling by boat, plane and RV all over the country. In the 1970’s Terry and Bud moved to Amelia Island Florida. Terry volunteered in many groups including LINKS, serving as VP Nassau Federated Republican Women, Fairway Oaks Association, and Women’s Club of Fernandina Beach.
Terry is survived by her four daughters, Denise McCafferty of Amelia Island, FL, Jennifer Ertel (Bill) of Towson, MD, Christine Poulsen (Jacob) of Amelia Island, FL and Meredith Coughlin (Ed) of Destin, FL. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Don McCafferty, Justin and Scott Larsen (Sarah), Kaitlin Money (Aaron), Lucian Burke Clower, Ian Scearcy (Alethia), Louis Scearcy (Lucy), and Kyle Scearcy and seven great grandchildren.

A visitation with family and friends will be held at The Oxley-Heard Funeral Home in Fernandina Beach, FL on Saturday June 27, 2026 from 2-4 PM.
