Terry Lawrence Fiege
2023-06-25
Terry Lawrence Fiege, 59, of Fernandina Beach, died suddenly Sunday, June 25, 2023.
A native and lifelong resident of Fernandina Beach, Terry was born July 14, 1963, at Humphrey’s Memorial Hospital.
As a student at Fernandina Beach High School, Terry was a member of the FBHS Pirate band and sang and traveled with the Madrigal singing group. He also performed in many of the school plays and proudly graduated Fernandina High School in 1981.
Terry began working at Fred’s Discount Store in Fernandina Beach while still in high school. He continued with Fred’s for over 30 years working as store manager, district manager and finally in store development throughout Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, and Tennessee before the business closed its doors in 2019. After Fred’s, Terry went to work with Dollar General stores and traveled extensively throughout the south as a senior project manager in Florida and East Alabama.
Each month, Terry always managed to return home to Fernandina Beach to enjoy a few days off and to reconnect with friends and family. He loved watching the Florida Gators and the Jacksonville Jaguars play and remained a loyal supporter through good seasons and bad.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert O. Fiege, Sr. and Juanita "Betty" Beckham Fiege and is survived by brothers Robert O. Fiege Jr. and Phillip E. Fiege along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Terry also leaves behind an amazing group of loving friends who would gather each time he was in town to enjoy his laughs, jokes, smiles and good times. Everybody always wanted to be around when Terry was in town.
A private memorial service will be held later for close family and friends. You will be missed my brother. Be at peace.
