Thomas "Tommy" J. Clark Jr.

2026-09-21

Thomas “Tommy” James Clark, Jr. 1947 – 2026

Thomas “Tommy” James Clark, Jr., age 79, passed away leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and relentless good humor. Born in Fernandina Beach, Florida, Tommy was a native Floridian through and through, spending the majority of his adult life residing in Jacksonville.

Tommy attended and graduated from Valdosta State College, laying the foundation for a long and successful career in chemical and industrial oil sales, a profession he dedicated himself to until his retirement. Known for his charismatic and outgoing personality, Tommy never met a stranger. He had an infectious, easygoing nature and was constantly quick with a joke, always looking for a way to bring a smile to the face of anyone nearby.

An avid sports enthusiast, Tommy was happiest whether he was out on the golf course pursuing the perfect round or cheering on his favorite teams. He was a fiercely loyal fan of both the Florida Gators and the Jacksonville Jaguars, rarely missing a chance to watch them play. Above all, Tommy treasured the time spent with his family and friends.

Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Linda Clark, his two children, David (Theresa)Clark and Christy Napier, and his beloved grandson, Thomas, who carries on his name.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Oxley-Heard Funeral Home located on 1305 Atlantic Avenue in Fernandina Beach, Florida. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior, at 10:00 AM for a Visitation.

Rather than flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations can be made to Breakthrough T1D (formerly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).
